Accessibility

Built to be usable.

This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what has been tested, and the two places it currently falls short.

What has been done

  • Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible gold focus ring on each control.
  • A "skip to content" link is the first thing you reach, so you do not tab the whole menu on every page.
  • Text meets the AA contrast minimum against the dark background. One of the brand greys was lightened to clear it.
  • Nothing animates if your device asks for reduced motion. The moving credential strip stops entirely.
  • Buttons and links are at least 24 by 24 pixels, so they are reachable on a touchscreen.
  • Pages use real headings, landmarks and alt text, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.

Where it falls short

Two known gaps, stated plainly rather than left for you to find.

  • The credential strip below the header scrolls on its own. It pauses when you hover it or move keyboard focus into it, and it does not move at all under reduced motion, but there is no permanent stop button. Every fact in it also appears in the footer and on the about page.
  • The application form is built and hosted by Typeform. Its accessibility is theirs rather than ours. If it gets in your way, say so and the application can be taken by message instead.

How this was tested

Automated checks with axe-core across every page at desktop and mobile widths, currently reporting no violations. Keyboard navigation, focus order, touch target sizes and the reduced-motion behaviour were checked by hand, because automated tools do not catch them.
